Biblical Tarot began with a simple question:
What if the stories of the Bible could become mirrors through which we understand ourselves?
Created by author and deck creator Krasimir Kalin, Biblical Tarot bridges biblical storytelling with the familiar structure and symbolism of Tarot. It transforms figures, events, and spiritual lessons from Scripture into an interactive system for self-reflection, personal growth, and a deeper understanding of the patterns shaping our lives.
The intention is not to strip the Bible of its sacred meaning. It is to open another doorway into its wisdom.
What Is Biblical Tarot?
Biblical Tarot is a complete 78-card Tarot system based on the traditional Rider–Waite structure.
Each card connects a familiar Tarot archetype with a biblical character, story, or spiritual lesson. The Major Arcana follows the Soul’s journey through innocence, temptation, courage, loss, transformation, and spiritual fulfillment. The Minor Arcana explores everyday relationships, emotions, choices, conflicts, and material concerns through stories from Scripture.
The traditional suits are reimagined as four biblical symbols: Candles represent Fire, Chalices represent Water, Feathers represent Air, and Grains represent Earth.
The result is a Tarot deck that feels both familiar and entirely new—a meeting place between ancient Scripture, symbolic storytelling, and the inner work of becoming more conscious.
Why the Bible and Tarot?
Because Scripture Already Speaks Through Symbols
Gardens, deserts, towers, floods, exile, sacrifice, resurrection, and promised lands are more than events in ancient stories. They represent experiences that continue to unfold within human life.
Biblical Tarot helps readers recognize themselves within these stories and ask what their meaning might reveal in the present moment.
Because Tarot Gives the Journey a Structure
Tarot provides a visual language for exploring change, relationships, fear, purpose, temptation, grief, hope, and renewal.
When paired with biblical narratives, that structure turns familiar stories into practical prompts for journaling, contemplation, personal readings, and honest self-examination.
Because Growth Should Not Depend on Shame
For some people, Scripture remains a source of comfort and spiritual connection. For others, it has become entangled with guilt, fear, judgment, or painful experiences within rigid religious environments.
Both realities deserve honesty.
Biblical Tarot creates space to reconnect with biblical wisdom without surrendering curiosity, intuition, or personal responsibility. It invites exploration rather than obedience through fear—and reflection rather than judgment.
A Different Relationship with Scripture
Biblical Tarot is not a rejection of Christianity, nor does it tell anyone what they must believe.
It separates the wisdom of biblical stories from the narrow interpretations that are sometimes used to condemn, control, or silence people. It offers a gentler relationship with Scripture—one in which questions are welcome, uncertainty is not treated as failure, and self-knowledge becomes part of spiritual responsibility.
The cards are not intended to dictate a fixed future or replace personal judgment. They are tools for asking better questions:

“I created Biblical Tarot for people who still feel something stir when they encounter Scripture, but who may also carry discomfort, guilt, or pain from the ways religion has sometimes been presented to them.
I wanted to create a meeting place between the symbolic wisdom of the Bible and Tarot’s ability to reveal patterns in our lives. A place where faith and self-discovery do not have to be enemies—and where questioning can become part of a sincere spiritual journey.
These cards are not about telling you what to believe. They are an invitation to look more honestly at your choices, fears, relationships, and potential.

About Krasimir Kalin
Krasimir Kalin is an author and independent Tarot-deck creator whose work brings together biblical narrative, psychology, symbolic art, and personal development.
He began developing Biblical Tarot in 2019, searching for meaningful connections between biblical stories and the archetypal structure of Tarot. The first edition was published in 2024.
He is also the author of The Divine Patterns of Biblical Tarot, a companion book that explores the cards’ meanings, biblical narratives, symbolism, and reading practices.
His second book, Illuminating the Path Within, accompanies Biblical Tarot: Shadows of the Soul and offers a structured approach to shadow work through biblical wisdom, psychological insight, and self-reflection.
Together, his two decks and companion books offer complementary paths: one explores the Soul’s spiritual journey, while the other turns toward the hidden patterns and emotions that often remain beneath the surface.
